Conveyor shafts are robust cylinders that mount to the conveyor frame. The shaft is integrated with sprockets via a keyway connection, and pulleys are mounted around the shaft. The shaft transfers energy from the sprocket to the pulley, powering the conveyor belt.
Shaft adjustments and configurations maintain the alignment and tension of the conveyor belt by orienting and tensioning the head, tail, and take-up pulleys. Conveyor shafts come in various designs and materials, tailored to the specific needs of different conveyor types, applications, and industries.
